Independent science advice

Report to Natural Resources Management Ministerial Council

This report was requested by the Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council (NRMMC) as a means of identifying the role that science plays in underpinning the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) and the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT). NRMMC requested that particular emphasis be placed on the scientific and technical robustness of natural resources management (NRM) program strategies and plans during their implementation and new or emerging scientific advances that may enhance the effectiveness of NRM program implementation.

Completed in March 2004 by a team from CSIRO and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

  • Supervised 10 research higher degree students to completion; external examiner for eight Universities
  • Developed and implemented Charles Sturt University’s Outside Work and Intellectual Property Policies and Research and Research Training Management Plan
  • Designed and implemented a comprehensive development program for early career researchers and research higher degree students
  • Reviewer for Charles Sturt University (Centre for Information Studies, Australian Graduate School of Police Management, Farrer Centre, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Science and Agriculture - agriculture courses). Reviewer for the University of Adelaide Department of Crop Protection
